Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety can feel overwhelming, scary, and can seemingly come out of nowhere. It can exist both in your thoughts and in your body. Some of the most common signs of anxiety are worry about the future, increased heart rate, heaviness in the chest, and avoidance of a certain trigger. There are many different types of anxiety disorders, some of which include Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Social Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Agoraphobia, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). If you think you may be struggling with anxiety, Mindful Living Psychological Services will help you make sense of your experience and help you learn the tools for managing your anxiety.

At Mindful Living Psychological Services, we aim to tailor your treatment plan to your individual needs and presenting challenges. Typically with anxiety, education is an important first step. It helps to make sense of what anxiety is and how it shows up specifically in your life. Some of the treatments that have been supported by research to help with anxiety include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure Therapy. Based on your symptoms and your treatment goals, your therapist will determine which approach will be best for you.
